Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty is in addition to, and does not override, your statutory rights that cannot be waived or limited by contract. Consumers are free to make a warranty claim under this Warranty. They may also exercise their statutory consumer rights.

Note: This Limited Warranty is valid only for products that you bought through our online store located at https://podcompany.com/ (the “Products”).

  • What our limited warranty covers
  • Pod Company (“we, us and our”) extend the following limited warranty to the buyer of the Products (“you and your”):

    • The Product you bought will match the descriptions we gave you when you contacted us.
    • The quality of the Product will be reasonably satisfactory.
    • The Product will fit your particular purpose if we promised that the Product would meet a need you told us about, based on our records.
    • The pumps, heater, and control system are warranted against malfunctions due to defects in workmanship or materials.
    • The chiller’s plumbing components are warranted against leaks due to defects in workmanship or materials.

    Your warranty will be valid for the following duration: one year from the date you received your Product. Your date of receipt will be the date shown on our delivery records for your order.

    We will replace or repair all defective Products by sending you replacement parts to carry out your own repairs. In the unlikely event that we can’t fix a warranty failure, we will reimburse you the purchase price that you paid, less the amount directly attributable to your use and enjoyment of the Product in question before the non-conformance was discovered. We may also accept your request for a partial refund as far as justified by the reduced value of the unrepaired Product if you opt to keep it.

  • What our limited warranty does not cover
  • Pod Company’s warranty commitments do not cover claims resulting from:

    • wear and tear, or due to the aging of materials;
    • aesthetic defects or minor deviations of the Products from images posted on our website, or due to naturally occurring variations in the materials used or manual assembly of Products;
    • improper assembly, use or care, contact with animals, or site or environmental conditions (such as environments with high heat, high humidity, high salinity or pollutant gases);
    • use in anything other than a domestic, private and non-commercial setting;
    • contact with moisture (including, without limitation, due to conditions such as hyperhidrosis or contact with aqueous or organic solvents), thermal degradation or elements that are known to cause a breakdown of materials;
    • modifications or failure to follow the recommended assembly or aftercare instructions; or
    • abuse, negligence, accident, fire or water damage, transportation by the customer or other causes beyond our control.
  • How to make a warranty claim
  • Please submit your warranty service claims promptly. For your warranty claims to be effective, you must submit your claims within 14 days of noticing the defect.

    You must provide your order number to validate your warranty. Submit your claims through the contact form to ensure proper handling. You must provide us with a clear picture of the alleged defect. If you refuse to send us the picture that we need to process your claim, we may assume that you cannot substantiate your claim or have abandoned your claim. We do not have any local repair facilities as our products are designed for you to easily carry out your own repairs.

    For defects in faulty parts, we will ship the replacement parts to you free of charge, and provide you with the necessary installation or assembly instructions. You may replace the parts by yourself or through a third party, but we won’t be responsible for any labor costs due to the replacement.

    Replacements may vary slightly in looks from what you bought because some of our parts are finished by hand. Replacement items will be warranted until the end of the warranty period for the originals which they replaced or 30 days from the date you receive the replacement items, whichever is later. We may need you to return defective parts or goods to us. If so, we will collect the defective parts or goods from you at our own cost or we will provide you with shipping instructions to ship the defective parts or goods back to us at our own cost. Should you require us to repair or replace an item that is out of warranty, you will pay for all the costs of repair and replacement. Examples of these costs include handling, transport, packaging and shipment charges and customs duty. If, after a reasonable number of attempts, we are not able to fix the defects in the Products, we will replace the Products or reimburse you in an amount equal to the purchase price you paid less that amount directly attributable to use by you prior to the discovery of the nonconformity.

  • Limitation on transferability of warranties
  • The Pod Company Warranty applies to the original purchaser only. All subsequent owners of the Pod Company Product acquire it “as is.” Any attempt to transfer any warranty in violation of this paragraph will void the warranty.

    Water chiller limited warranty information:

    1 YEAR EQUIPMENT AND CONTROLS – Specifically the pumps, heater, and control system – are warranted against malfunctions due to defects in workmanship or materials for one year from the original date of purchase. 

    1 YEAR PLUMBING COMPONENTS - The chiller's plumbing components are warranted against leaks due to defects in workmanship or materials for one year from the original date of purchase. 

    The factory installed filter & pump is warranted against malfunction due to defects in workmanship or materials for one year from the original date of purchase, except the paper core filter itself which should be replaced every 30 days.

    This Limited Warranty is void if The Pod Company or its designated representative determines that the chiller or ice bath connected has been subjected to damage or failure due to installation of aftermarket parts that are not Genuine Pod Company branded Parts & Accessories. This disclaimer includes, but is not limited to filters, pumps, valves, repair parts and other accessories. Genuine Pod Company brand Parts & Accessories are built to our highest standards of quality, durability and performance, and they are designed to work with your chiller to ensure optimal performance and function. 

    PERFORMANCE & TEMPERATURE

    To obtain service in the event of a defect covered by this Limited Warranty, notify Pod Company as soon as possible and use all reasonable means to protect the chiller from further damage. Upon proof of purchase, a designated service representative will correct the defect subject to the terms and conditions contained in this Limited Warranty. There will be no charge for parts or labor to repair the defect, although providing access to affect the repair is your responsibility as the owner. The cost of removal and reinstallation will be your responsibility as the chiller owner. The Manufacturer reserves the right, at its sole option, to either repair or replace any covered part, and in the event it chooses to provide a replacement chiller, it will be of equal value to the original chiller. In such an event, reasonable costs for removal of the original chiller, shipping costs from the factory for the replacement chiller and delivery and installation of the replacement will be your responsibility as the chiller owner. The replacement chiller will carry the balance of the original chiller’s warranty.

    The temperature the pod chiller can cool to it's advertised temperature in most cases, but please understand variations of up to +- 5°F is possible, and not covered under warranty. This can be due to many factors such as extreme heat climates, sun exposure to the ice bath, low amp power supply etc. 

    WARRANTY LIMITATIONS 

    This Limited Warranty is void if: Used in a commercial setting, the Manufacturer or its designated representative determines that the chiller and ice bath connected has been subjected to alteration, neglect, misuse or abuse, or freight damage caused by the common carrier; any repairs have been attempted by anyone other than a designated representative; or if the failure is caused by accident, acts of God or other causes beyond the control of the Manufacturer. Neglect, misuse and abuse include any installation, operation or maintenance of the chiller other than in accordance with the instructions contained in the owner’s manual provided with the chiller, including but not limited to the failure to maintain proper water chemistry and chemical balance and the use of abrasive or improper cleaners or non-genuine parts and accessories. Chiller's used in commercial applications are excluded from any coverage whatsoever. The chiller owner accepts liability for repair work performed by anyone other than the Manufacturer or a designated representative. The Pod Company is not responsible for work performed on any units outside of the contiguous United States. 

    The limited warranty is also voided if proper maintenance as per the instructions are not kept. This include monthly filter changes, poor water chemistry and maintenance, or other forms of neglect. The chiller's warranty is ultimately voided if 2 months without filter change goes by, or if the chiller is left with stagnant water inside for 6+ months without being turned on.

    The chiller warranty also do not cover damage caused by freezing conditions. It is the customers responsibility to not leave the chiller outside in freezing conditions, as this can break the pipes and water tank of the chiller. We always recommend emptying the chiller from water by disconnecting the hoses and tipping it to let water drain out, and thereafter storing it inside in non-freezing conditions until needed again. The purpose of the chiller is to operate in warmer temperatures, to keep your water cold, and there's no need to have your chiller connected to the IcePod, when it's freezing conditions outside, as your water will maintain the cold temperatures needed naturally.

    LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES 

    This Limited Warranty takes the place of all other warranties, express or implied, in fact or at law. All warranty service must be performed by the Manufacturer or its designated representative using authorized Pod Company parts. No agent, dealer, distributor, service company or other party is authorized to change, modify or extend the terms of this limited warranty in any manner whatsoever. The Manufacturer will not be responsible for any statements or representations made in any form that go beyond, are broader than, or are inconsistent with any authorized literature or specifications furnished by The Pod Company. The Limited warranty does not cover the following; rust on the outer chiller casing or components as this can be caused by humid climates or exposure to severe weather conditions.

    DISCLAIMERS 

    The MANUFACTURER AND ITS REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, and shall not be liable for any injury, loss, cost or other damage, whether incidental or consequential, arising out of any defect covered by this limited warranty, including without limitation, loss of use of the chiller and cost for removal of defective product even if the Manufacturer was advised of the possibility of damage, and water damage. The liability of the Manufacturer under this limited warranty, if any, shall not exceed the original amount paid for the defective product. Coverage under this
    limited warranty shall commence as of the original date of purchase and the duration of such coverage shall not extend for any reason whatsoever beyond the stated time periods. These disclaimers shall be equally applicable to any service provided by the Manufacturer and its designated representatives. 

    LEGAL RIGHTS 

    This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. There are no warranties applicable to Pod Company's products except as expressly stated herein or as implied by applicable state and federal laws. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, disclaimer of certain warranties, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so some of the above limitations
