We managed to get exclusive early access to the Pod Company's latest innovation, the Sauna Pod. We've been testing it out for the last few months and we're seriously impressed. It's a smart design with exceptional quality giving an authentic Finnish sauna experience. The powerful heat you experience in the sauna after 10-15 minutes is fantastic, you get a serious sweat on.
For only £599, you can get the complete Sauna Pod - incredible value that’s unlike anything else on the market. It's easy to set up and use, providing a therapeutic and relaxing experience right in the comfort of your own home. Whether you’re looking to detox, improve circulation, or just unwind after a long day, the Sauna Pod delivers all the proven benefits of a true Finnish sauna.
This sounds too good to be true, what's the catch? We thought the same, and were actually hesitant to order this one, but after seeing their ads everywhere, researching them a bit more, being assured with their 24 month warranty, and seeing their 2,000+ 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, we took the chance.
After 3 months of testing this sauna daily, we can confidently say that this sauna set up is the perfect rig for 99% of health-conscious individuals. It delivers the same heat and experience consistently, as the comparable £5,000+ saunas. The build quality is impressive and their warranty + satisfaction guarantee seems to hold up based on our own experience and from online reviews.
This is by far the best value option out there, as other saunas with the same features can be at least 10x the price of this setup. If your budget is at the £500 - £1,000 mark then you compromise on effectiveness (and safety!) with other brands as they tend to use steam to generate heat, unlike the Pod Company who have developed their portable sauna with hot air technology. Our experts would recommend this product for anyone looking to try heat therapy, even if you have £3,000+ to spend, we actually don't believe the huge markup of other competing saunas are worth it.
Included: Red light technology, heater
The SaunaPod Infrared from VITAL+ is designed as a plug-and-play, at-home infrared sauna. It targets users seeking a convenient, compact sauna experience without the complexity of construction or major installation. The compact pod heats up quickly, but in testing the maximum temperature plateaued sooner than expected, which might leave heat enthusiasts wanting a bit more intensity.
If you’re looking for an all-in-one compact infrared sauna then this is a good option. That said for the price, you can get a cheaper and better performing product with our #1 pick, the Sauna Pod.
Included: Sauna, Wooden Panelling, At Home installation (additional Cost)
The MyoSauna Infrared is positioned as a premium at-home sauna boasting a compact indoor design with infrared heating. While some of their specs (e.g. high performance, premium feel) are compelling, there are trade-offs to consider in terms of size, cost and installation. Overall we were a bit surprised that for the price the max temperature is only 65 °C.
If you have the space and are willing to spend almost £4,000 this is an option. You need to be willing to invest financially and commit a larger space for this sauna. We did not love this option as it requires some serious space, care and is challenging to move if needed. The price point along with the max temp was the main drawdown. We do not see the justification to spend nearly 10 times more money compared to the other options on the market for around £500.
A portable, inflatable-frame steam sauna unit aimed at creating a “personal spa” experience at home. It offers a more accessible entry point into home sauna use, especially for users prioritising convenience and minimal installation. When testing we found the steam output sometimes felt inconsistent, often tapering off during longer sessions. We also noticed that condensation management can be tricky.
Although it's pretty cheap at the £500 mark, since it’s made from plastic that can lead to a whole load of health issues when heated with the steamer unit, we felt that the price point provided does not justify the risk to your overall health. For the same price of this product, other companies offer the full hot air setup and natural materials (cotton or wood), which would be our recommendation if your budget is between £500 - £1,000.
You can always join a high-end gym or find a wellness hub
We don't want to bash group saunas as there are some great benefits to getting sweaty with a group of strangers... like the communal aspect of sharing a sauna. It can be great but it does often come at a cost of losing the relaxing ambiance. Unlike the 4 other options we listed that you can set up at home, you don't have heat therapy on your fingertips. It can be a drag to get out the house and get to a local sauna spot.
