We managed to get exclusive early access to the Pod Company's latest innovation, the Sauna Pod. We've been testing it out for the last few months and we're seriously impressed. It's a smart design with exceptional quality giving an authentic Finnish sauna experience. The powerful heat you experience in the sauna after 10-15 minutes is fantastic, you get a serious sweat on.
For only $697, you can get the complete Sauna Pod — incredible value that’s unlike anything else on the market. It's easy to set up and use, providing a therapeutic and relaxing experience right in the comfort of your own home. Whether you’re looking to detox, improve circulation, or just unwind after a long day, the Sauna Pod delivers all the proven benefits of a true Finnish sauna.
This sounds too good to be true, what's the catch? We thought the same, and were actually hesitant to order this one, but after seeing their ads everywhere, researching them a bit more, being assured with their 24 month warranty, and seeing their 1200+ 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, we took the chance.
After 3 months of testing this sauna daily, we can confidently say that this sauna set up is the perfect rig for 99% of Americans. It delivers the same heat and experience consistently, as the comparable $10,000+ saunas. The build quality is impressive and their warranty + satisfaction guarantee seems to hold up based on our own experience and from online reviews.
This is by far the best value option out there, as other saunas with the same features can be at least 10x the price of this setup. If your budget is at the $500 - $800 mark then you compromise on effectiveness (and safety!) with other brands as they tend to use steam to generate heat, unlike the Pod Company who have developed their portable sauna with hot air technology. Our experts would recommend this product for anyone looking to try heat therapy, even if you have $5000+ to spend, we actually don't believe the huge markup of other competing saunas are worth it.
Included: Barrel sauna, Electric Heater and WiFi enabled controller
This sauna does exactly what it's supposed to, delivering a solid sauna experience. This would be an excellent choice, but the $9000+ price point is hard for our experts to justify. After testing another sauna priced around $700 that offer similar performance and features (our #1 pick in this article specifically), it’s tough to see a reasonable explanation why anyone would splurge on this one for the same heat and performance.

Sure, the design is indeed sleek, and it may have a few extra bells and whistles, but in terms of value for money, there’s really no reason to spend ten times more for a sauna that doesn’t stand out enough to warrant the hefty price tag. At the end of the day you get the same heat and benefits here as you do with our $699 option we tested.
If you have the space and are willing to spend almost $10,000 this is an option. You need to be willing to invest financially and commit a larger space for this sauna. We did not love this option as it requires some serious space, care and is challenging to move if needed. The price point was the main drawdown of this option, comparing it to our first pick, we do not see the justification to spend 10 times more money.
Included: Sauna, Steamer Unit
The Tropic Home Sauna has been around for a couple of years now, and so we had to test this one too. The style that the brand has created is pretty good, but it does lack in almost all areas of performance that we are comparing all saunas on. Whilst testing the product we had some issues with the tent material and zipper. We were slightly surprised that the matieral wasn't more durable.
The biggest red flag with this product is the steamer. Firstly, it doesn't produce enough heat to get the science-backed benefits of heat therapy. But secondly, and most worringly, is the choice of heat generation. Steam. Along with the plastics used in the build, the steam is therefore quite dangerous, and toxic!

Whilst we were doing our research, we came across this Youtube video from a well-known wellness reviewer, and we're inclined to agree with him. To quote Ben "Stay away!"
Although it's pretty cheap at the $500 mark, we were disappointed that this option is actually not built well, since it’s just plastic that can lead to a whole load of health issues when heated with the steamer unit The price point provided does not justify the risk to your overall health. For the same price of this product, other companies offer the full hot air setup and organic materials (cotton or wood), which would be our recommendation if your budget is around $700 - $1000.
Included: Sauna Box, steel sauna stove, Thermometer
The Sweat Tent is a pretty good option; strong heating, easy to use and nice branding. We did notice that the durability of the box didn't quite match the Pod Company and Sisu Barrel when testing. It's also more expensive than its counterparts at well over $1,000. And although it uses wood to heat the tent we found some other noticeable flaws in the product (listed in our cons).

We don't want to bash group saunas as there are some great benefits to getting sweaty with a group of strangers... like the communal aspect of sharing a sauna. It can be great but it does often come at a cost of losing the relaxing ambiance. Unlike the 4 other options we listed that you can set up at home, you don't have heat therapy on your fingertips. It can be a drag to get out the house and get to a local sauna spot.
